Parish Barbecue 2018

On what started out as a somewhat grim, chilly and overcast day, but transformed into a beautiful sunny afternoon of 24 degrees, the Parish Barbecue took place in the beautiful gardens of Cathedral House on Sunday 16th September.
There was plenty to interest young and old; from “Adopt a Soft Toy”, to books and bric-a-brac, including a range of pictures and paintings to grace any walls. Tombola, a plant sale and children’s games were also available.
In addition to all this, was the BBQ, which was excellent, with burgers, sausages and salad, and cooked on site by a valiant team of parishioners who worked tirelessly in the heat throughout the afternoon. For dessert a sumptuous cake stall and strawberries and cream were on offer – making it an impossible choice as they all looked wonderful. Tea, coffee, drinks and a slick Pimms stall topped this off in perfect style.
A great time was had by all and a great opportunity to mix with members of the parish and get to know new members, in the sunshine amidst the magnificent surroundings of the Cathedral gardens. Thanks to all those who helped to make this happen, to all who attended and for the glorious weather.
