
Deacon Roger Stone
Deacon Roger Stone BEM LLB BA serves the Catholic community at Arundel Cathedral and Our Lady of England Catholic Church in Storrington. His dedication to service is evident through his extensive career and contributions to both the Church and society.
Before his ordination, Deacon Roger had a career in the public sector. Following his retirement from public service, he embraced a vocational path, becoming the Senior Port Chaplain at the Apostleship of the Sea. In this role, he provided pastoral care and support to seafarers, addressing their spiritual and practical needs.
In recognition of his services, Deacon Roger was honoured with the British Empire Medal (BEM).
His involvement extended to international events, notably serving as a chaplain during the 2012 London Olympics. In this capacity, he was assigned to support athletes participating in sailing and water sports along the south coast, offering spiritual guidance during the games.
At Arundel Cathedral and Our Lady of England Catholic Church, Deacon Roger continues his ministry, assisting in liturgical services, preaching, and providing pastoral care to parishioners.
